- Summary: The Lake of Isles is an awesome golf course that appeals to a broad audience. When I went to the Lake of Isles, and also stayed at the Foxwoods Resort and Casino, it reminded me of a East Coast version of Las Vegas minus the non sense that comes with Las Vegas. If you enjoy golfing and gambling, this is the place to be. Side note: I don't gamble, but some of the friends I went with do, and they had a blast gambling at the casino. The resort has great stay and play packages as well so this resort is a great place for a buddies trip. Lake of Isles is owned by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation. The course was designed by Rees Jones and opened in 2005.

- I was able to play the course four days in a row and didn't get tired of it. The course has a ton of variety and is a difficult course at 7,300 yards from the tips. The course is difficult, so make sure to choose the tees that match your playing level. The course meanders through lakes and wooded areas that were just blooming as I played there. I imagine that the course would be incredible in the fall with the fall foliage. Favorite hole was number 18 - make sure that if you're not playing the back tees that you tee off from the tips on this one for fun. The tee shot requires a forced carry of approximately 220 yards and the further left you go, the easier your approach shot. If you try to get too greedy though, you'll end up in the lake.
